Basic Information

Fukiko Ichinomiya is a high-class individual. Raised wealthy, she exudes well-mannered confidence and grace. She is the president of Seiran Academy’s student council, as well as head of Seiran’s Sorority.

The Sorority is a kind of social club, very similar to the ones in the United States. The young girls at Seiran are judged by their looks, academics, lineage, and health in order to be selected to join the Sorority.

It was very easy for Fukiko, as a now third-year student, to be head of the Sorority. Various characters associate her so heavily with the Sorority that an attack on the group is more of an attack on Fukiko. This is all to say, Fukiko values her place in the world and desires nothing more than to stay on top. This lends itself to a deep insecurity.

Fukiko was not born fully to the Ichinomiya family. She is a bastard child, born to Mr. Ichinomiya and his mistress, one of the maids from the Ichinomiya household. This is the same case as Fukiko’s younger sister, Rei Asaka. However, only Fukiko was taken in by the Ichinomiya family and raised as if she were a full-blooded child.

This isn’t revealed to Fukiko until Mrs. Ichinomiya is dying and confesses to Fukiko that she is a bastard child. This leads to a deep-set insecurity in Fukiko, which she takes out on Rei.

Fukiko and Rei meet for the first time when Fukiko is 11 and Rei is 10. Rei catches Fukiko crying in her backyard garden while visiting the Ichinomiya residence for the first time. Fukiko confesses to Rei that she was just at a party and was given a bad seat, completely embarrassing her. Following this, a maid comes to collect Fukiko, worried that she came home early. Fukiko stands up straight before the maid can see, collecting herself very quickly with honor. She gives a lie about feeling ill and needing to come home early. Rei finds this enchanting, Fukiko’s ability to remain dignified in front of others no matter her true feelings. This is when Rei falls in love with Fukiko.

Fukiko and Rei live together following this, as Rei’s mother (whom she lived with) had just committed suicide.

A year later, Fukiko is 12. Her older brother Takashi (who is not much involved in Fukiko’s life) brings a university friend to visit them at their villa. This is Takehiko Henmi. Fukiko falls utterly in love with this man.
